You know when your friend hits you up like “yo, you wanna link and do sum?” and you be like “yeah” and they be like “what you wanna do” and you be like “idk” and they be like “same”? Babe, wym sAmE?? And then you both spend foreverrr trying to find things to do around your city, but it’s like… There’s nothing to do. Nothing sparks your interests.

This is kind of a “sequel” to my 30 Sleepover Night Ideas. That post was about things to do with your friends at home, and this one is about things to do if you want to go out. Well, Imma help you cuz I’m just such a nice person like that. So, yeah, Imma give you the tea.

(Disclaimer: you can do these with anyone! Friends, your S0, family, co workers, it doesn’t actually matter. You can also go to/do some of these by yourself if you just wanna treat yourself to a day off.)

Amusement Park

Amusement Parks are always fun to go to. You will have to look up and see what parks are in your area. The most well known amusement park (at least in my opinion) is Six Flags. Six Flags has establishments in California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. There are also Six Flags in other countries such as Canada, China, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.

So, if your state or country has a Six Flags, you should definitely go. The one I’ve been to was reallyy fun! I think you’ll enjoy it (if you like games and roller coasters and don’t mind being outside all day.) If there’s no Six Flags near you, just go to good ol’ Google. I’m sure there are some amusement parks around.

Arcade

Arcades are sooo fun! I haven’t been to one in a while, but as soon as corona is over, I’d like to go again. I’m not sure what is classified as an arcade, but when I think of arcades I think of the place that Max, Dustin, and Lucas would go to (if you’ve watched Stranger Things, you’ll understand the reference.)

I also think of places like Dave&Busters, Stars&Strikes, and places like that when I think of arcades. Solely, because they have large arcade sections. (They also have bowling, bumper cars, and laser tag.) Dave&Busters has locations in almost every state. The only states that don’t have a Dave&Busters are Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming. (Dave&Busters also has locations in Canada.)

As far as I can tell, Stars&Strikes only has locations in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. However I may be wrong and you should still check to see if there is one in your area. If you live somewhere where the above examples aren’t available to you, again… Google is your friend. Look up arcades near you.

Aquarium

I don’t think I’ve ever been to the aquarium. Maybe I have and I just don’t remember. But aquariums can be fun, if you like aquatic animals. I always wanted to go to an aquarium and see a dolphin or a shark or a whale… I don’t know if they actually have big animals like that in aquariums.

I had an opportunity to go to an aquarium once, but my mom said no, because she didn’t want me paying money to see animals that were being held captive. Which I understand. There are aquariums in every state in the U.S. I’m not sure if there are aquariums in every other country, but you can easily look that up.

Beach

Beaches are fun! I love them! Of course there’s always the possibility of drowning, getting caught in a whirlpool, shark attacks, jellyfish attacks, electric eel attacks… But other than that, going to the beach is awesome! I don’t even know how to swim, but I like the beach anyway. The hot sand, the food nearby, the water (depending on which beach you go to). Just an amazing experience.

There aren’t necessarily beaches in every state, but there are certain lakes that act as a beach. I’m sure you’ll find a beach or lake you can go to. (*cough cough* Google.) Spending the day relaxing is just so… Relaxing. I recommend looking at reviews of the beach or lake before you go justtt in case there’s something you need to know.

Breakfast

Go out for breakfast. This can be fun and filling, depending on where you go and who you go with. I’d love to go out for breakfast with one of my friends. Even going with my parents and annoying siblings can be fun sometimes.

Especially if the food is good. Y’all can sit and eat and talk and laugh. Just… Yes. There are always places to eat at, but definitelyyy look at reviews and weigh your options before you go.

Bowling

I mentioned above that Dave&Busters and Stars&Strikes provide bowling services. However, you can go to an actual bowling alley if you want. Bowling with friends and family is sooo fun! I haven’t been bowling in a long time, but the sheer joy of trying to get a strike and win is everythinggg.

I don’t know if bowling is available in every state/country, but you can easily look it up and check.

Concert

Obviously, if a band or artist/artists you like are performing near you, you can buy tickets. Once you’ve gotten the tickets and have someone to go with, you’re good. Concerts are fun. I’ve never been to, like, a real concert, but I can just tell they’re fun.

Just be on the look out for concert dates and destinations from your favorite bands and artists.

Dinner

Instead of breakfast, you can go out for dinner! (You can always go out for breakfast then go out again for dinner.) Dinner with a friend is fun. Family… I think it depends on where you go.

I’ve said it before, and I will keep saying it… CHECK THE REVIEWS!!! Make sure you’re not going to a place where roaches are gonna crawl out from under the plate. I don’t care if the pictures they have on their website are pretty or if they seem good. They’ll say anything to get your money, babe. Be smart.

Fair/Festival

I don’t know if every state/country does these. I know my state has a Cherry Bloom Festival (Idk if it was actually called that, but it was something around it) and we have a state fair. Some people say carnival instead of fair. I say fair, but that’s just me.

I’ve never been to the fair, but I did go to the festival. I thought it was gonna be lame, but it was actually really fun. Me and a group of friends went and we ate sooo much. There weren’t any games or anything. It was really just walking around and looking at the stands where people were selling stuff. The food was soo good, I wanna go back. We also were able to watch a man do tricks with a crocodile or alligator (I don’t know which one it was.) It was kinda scary, cuz I was like 100% sure the croc or gator was gonna eat the man or jump out the water and start biting people. Which is why I stayed in the back and didn’t really get to see.

Go Kart

I’ve never been go karting. I want to go, but it’s never happened. I’m sure it’s fun, and I feel like it’s similar to bumper cars. (If you don’t wanna do go karts, do bumper cars.) Yeah, but I’m sure it’s fun, because why else would people do it?

Hiking

I don’t hike. I just don’t. But if you, and the other person/people, are in sync with mother nature, I recommend hiking. Please have the right gear and bring food and water (heavy on the water). Please look at reviews. Please follow the trail they give you.

You’re not Diego, so I don’t want you thinking you know what you’re doing and can talk to animals. Even Deigo’s cousin, Dora the Explorer, used a map. Got it? You don’t know where you’re going, and even if you do… I don’t want anyone to die, so be safe. Maybe get a hiking guide, I don’t know.

Horseback Riding

I’ve never ridden a horse. I want to, but horses are big and I feel like I’ll get thrown off and break my face. If you know how to ride a horse, or if you’re more adventurous and risky than I am, I recommend it!

I feel like it can be fun if you know what you’re doing or if you’re with someone who knows what they’re doing. But me? I don’t know what I’m doing.

Ice Skating

This is for the colder months when the ice arenas are open. Now, listen to me. Ice skating can be very dangerous. Especially if it’s your first time or if you’re not very good at it. That tiny, little thin blade is so hard to navigate.

Please take your time, make sure the ice is stable, and be patient. Do not try to figure 8 just because someone else did it. If they can figure eight, they’ve most likely been doing this a while and has wayy more experience than you. You will probably fall, but that’s okay. Don’t skate too close to anyone, because you or them could accidentally lose control and then you’ll both get hurt.

Stay close to the edges barrier thingy if you don’t know what you’re doing. You can hold onto it to keep your balance and follow it along the skating rink. Play it safe, that’s all I ask.

Indoor Climbing

I’ve done this at some place who’s name I can’t remember. It was fun, but I was scared I was gonna fall. Even though, they had cushion thingies underneath me, I was still scared. It was fun, though.

Karaoke

I’m only slightly okay at singing, but if you and the other person enjoy singing and are good at it, go right ahead! Do it, babe, cuz I can’t.

Laser Tag

Laser tag is soooo muchhh funnn! I live for laser tag, honestly. I know Stars&Strikes has laser tag, I’m pretty sure Dave&Busters does also. I’ve only ever played laser tag at Stars&Strikes and Main Event. I don’t know if there are places that have only laser tag. (Main Event has bowling, laser tag, and an arcade btw.)

Laser tag with friends is fun, especially if there are some strangers in there with you. It be so funny. When I played, it was hard to shoot people. I didn’t pay attention to the video where they explained it, so that is why people kept killing me and I wasn’t killing anybody. The laser tag room is extremely dark, so be careful. I was running so fast and didn’t see a handle right in front of me. I ran right into it and fell. My stomach was hurting so bad that I just laid there. My friends were calling my name and tryna see where I was, and I ain’t even say nothing.

Lunch

Just like breakfast and dinner, you can go out for lunch. Any of the three will do and will be fun to eat with friends. If the food isn’t good, it might not be as fun. On that note… CHECK THE REVIEWS!!! Imma keep saying it.

Mall

I’m sure y’all already thought of this before you even searched up where to go and what to do. Malls are just… everything. I love going to the mall. I live for the mall, even tho I already said I live for laser tag. The mall just fills me with such happiness.

Walking around for hours. Going into stores and looking at clothes that are too expensive, but I still dream about getting. Going into Build-A-Bear to build a bear that’s gonna sit in my sibling’s room, cuz I don’t play with toys. Going into every store no matter what the store is just because I can. Eating food from the food court. I live for the food court. Passing by Annie’s then going back, because it’s Annie’s and I want a pretzel. What’s not to love?

Movies

Movies are fun. I haven’t been to an actual movie theater since like half a yr or a full yr before corona started. Do people still go to the movies? Now that there’s Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Disney+, Roku, Firestick, Kodi… All these things where you can watch movies without having to leave the house.

However, you’re going to leave the house. You’re going to buy a ticket, buy popcorn, candy, and drinks, and you’re going to have a good time. No exceptions.

Museum

Museums or “centers” can be fun depending on what’s there and what you’re interested in. I’ve been to the Emory Museum (dk if that’s what it’s actually called). It shares a campus with Emory University. The only thing about that trip I remember is seeing a statue of Medusa’s head and fake mummy coffin thingies.

I’ve been to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. It’s right across from the Coca-Cola factory. Me and a group of friends went and it was pretty cool. We got to listen to fake calls of people who got locked up. We got to somewhat experience a sit in (nobody actually gets hurt). We saw things about Malcom X, Dr. King Jr, the four girls from Alabama who died from a bomb. We got to hear people’s stories from all over the world about how they fought racism and things like that. We watched this cool little documentary thing. I would definitely go again.

Paint

I’ve went painting twice. It can be fun and relaxing. However, for me it was not. I wasn’t good at painting and I was frustrated cuz I didn’t know what I was doing and it didn’t come out how I wanted it to. It was still a little fun, because my best friend was with me. But she was frustrated, too, so there’s that.

If you’re good at painting, I’m sure you’ll like it. You just have to find a place that has painting services.

Paintballing

I’ve never been paintballing, but I saw it on an episode of Austin and Ally and an episode of Jessie. I think it could be fun, but I also think it hurts. I’m not sure. I don’t know if I would ever actually go, but paintballing could be fun for you. It’s kind of like laser tag but with balls of paint instead of fake lasers.

Party

If you’ve been invited to a party, grab a couple of friends and go! I’ve never been to, like, a high school party or anything like that, but on TV it looks fun. I’ve been to birthday parties and I like the cake. So, if you’re going to a birthday party, make sure there’s cake.

Road Trip

If you have a car, you could go on a road trip (if your parents allow you to do so.) I’ve never been on a road trip, unless you count driving from Georgia to Texas then Texas to Georgia both with a timespan of 2 or 3 days.

Road Trips on TV seem fun, so I recommend it. It might get a little annoying being in the car with people for a long time, but whatever.

Roller Skating

Like ice skating, just find a skating rink you can go to. I’ve been to two different roller rinks. One was Starlight. Starlight has roller skating, an arcade, and a little corner for little kids. That experience wasn’t fun. My best friend was with me, but it was boring for both of us.

When we went to the other rink who’s name I can’t recall, it was a big group of people and it was wayy more fun. I fell a lot and my knees had carpet burns from falling on the edges of the rink, but it was worth it. Definitely recommend going with a group!

Spa Day

Go to the spa and get a massage. Or if you don’t want to go to a spa, you can just have a relaxing day. Get mani-pedis. Things like that. No need to stress and worry on your day away from stress and worry.

Trampoline Park

I’ve been to a trampoline park. I don’t really remember what it was called. Rocket Jump? Something like that. It was in Florida, so maybe my Floridian followers know what I’m talking about.

Trampoline parks are really fun, but you’ve gotta be careful so you don’t fall and bust ya head wide open.

Water Park

Water parks are fun, because it’s kinda like a beach but without the sand and dangerous animals. This is the third type of park I’ve talked about and here’s another… A regular park. If you know a park near you that you or your friend likes going to, go there! Some normal parks can be fun if it’s big and a lot of kids there.

Zip Lining

If you’re adventurous, dangerous, risky… This may be the thing for you. It’s not the thing for me, but maybe you’ll like it. Zip Lining looks like it could be fun, but not if you’re afraid of heights like me.

Be safe and do your research, so you won’t fall from the hook and die.

Zoo

If you like animals, but not really a fan of aquatic animals, the zoo might be for you. Tbh, I’ve always wanted to see a lion and a tiger and a giraffe in real life.

I think the zoo would be fun, but it could be scary. What if the animals have had enough of the captivity and escape and eat everyone? Be safe, babe.

That’s all I have for this post! I’ll be doing a Mental Glow Up post next, and plentyyy more!

Pleaseee like, comment, and share this post.
