First Post

Wow, everything looks so professional here.

Now, let’s get serious.

What people say and feel about you when you’ve left a room is precisely your job while you’re in it.

Pssh, no pressure, right? Okay, so I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve written stories before, won an award for it, so writing my innermost feelings for everyone to see is going to be easy, right? No.

When writing a story, you get to come up with a character and present the plot from their point of view. When writing a diary, it’s you. The real you. Unless, you create a fake internet persona and use that. But, honestly, that seems like wayyy too much work.

Not gonna lie, I actually looked up “what to write about in your first blog post”. Then, I got the best idea. Just be honest. Of course, I already know once I start I’m not gonna have 55 million people reading my blog, because I just started.

However, whatever readers I do have… I’ll tell you a little bit about what a Gen-Z diary is.

Alright, so I was born in the early 2000’s. You know boomers (1965-1979), right? They’re generation x. Our parents, (1980-1994) are millennials or generation y. I’m generation z (1995-2010).

My purpose is to give the world an inside view on how a teenager looks at things happening outside of their life. I know, amazing that we even know what happens in real life. Millennials and boomers think we don’t come off our phones, laptops, computers, tablets, game systems, etc.,for more than five minutes. We’re not actually consumed by our screens, okay?

This isn’t just to give the outside world an inside view… It’s also to call the outside world out on their crap. Yeah, I said it. They got a lotta problems, most problems they try to blame on us. I understand that social issues are very real. And they should all be ashamed.

Just because they don’t agree with something, doesn’t mean they have to drag an entire anything through mud. It’s okay to feel a certain way, but seriously! I know for a fact that they’ve all learned the saying, “If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all”. I know this for a fact, because all of us learned the exact same thing.

However, kids follow their parents’ examples. If parents are trolling people online (and in real life) because they’re different than them, best believe the kids are probably going to do the same thing. But don’t worry. I’m hoping I can make a little difference in that.

Now, with that out of the way, I’d like to conclude my very well said statement. This blog is open to everyone (so yes, if you’re a boy, you’re welcome here). You can share, like, and pleaseee pleaseee comment. I’d love to hear your opinions as well.
